Witness the heroic journey of salmon returning home to spawn in Kanaka Creek. While you’re there, you can also engage with displays, games and hatchery volunteers. This event is family friendly and free.

5) A celebration of art and community in the downtown eastside
The DTES Heart of the City Festival is all about promoting artists, presenting art forms and facilitating the development of culture from Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside. With 100 events happening at more than 50 venues throughout the neighbourhood, there’s definitely something for everyone.
