Are you still waiting for your first dose of a COVID-19 vaccine?

Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»Coastal Health (VCH) urges locals to visit its East Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»drop-in vaccination clinic to get their first dose of vaccine this Saturday (July 17).

The regional health authority will offer vaccinations at "easily accessible clinics that meet people where they are, out enjoying the summer," explains a news release.

From 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, VCH will hold a drop-in vaccination clinic in Trout Lake Park, which is a popular summer hangout spot for families and people of all ages.

The immunization clinic is located at 13th Ave. and Lakewood Dr. and is adjacent to the "must-do Trout Lake Farmer’s Market on Saturdays," adds VCH.

First doses will be prioritized for anyone 12 and older, and if there is capacity at the clinic, second doses will also be available for those who received their first dose at least seven weeks ago.

The Shipyards District

From July 19 to July 23, VCH will head to the North Shore to offer first-dose vaccinations to people aged 12 and older at the Pipe Shop at The Shipyards. If there is capacity at the clinic, second doses will also be available for those who received their first dose at least seven weeks ago.

The Pipe Shop Immunization Clinic is located at 115 Victory Ship Way. The clinic will be available on the following days:

  • Monday, July 19: 10:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.
  • Tuesday, July 20: 8 a.m. – 3 p.m.
  • Wednesday, July 21: 8 a.m. – 3 p.m.
  • Thursday, July 22: 8 a.m. – 3 p.m.
  • Friday, July 23: 8 a.m. – 3 p.m.

Enhanced safety measures and protocols are in place at all Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»Coastal Health COVID-19 vaccination clinics. Visitors are reminded to wear a short-sleeve shirt as the vaccine will be delivered to the upper arm. Everyone receiving a vaccine will be monitored for 15 minutes following their appointment.

Those attending summer immunization clinics are reminded to take precautions from the heat including wearing sunscreen, staying hydrated, and having something to eat and drink before your vaccination.
