As of Monday, a total of 101 cases were part of a COVID-19 outbreak in staff and residents of Abbotsford long-term care facility, Tabor Home.
According to the executive director, Dan Levitt of Tabor Village – which owns and operates Tabor Home and is affiliated with Fraser Health – 59 of those cases are in its older residents. Fraser Health confirmed there have been two deaths as a result.
The remaining amount, 42, has been found within staff members at the centre, .
“We continue to do everything possible to support our residents and staff during this outbreak,” Levitt told Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³» in an email.

The outbreak was first reported Friday, Nov. 6, when Fraser Health announced that seven staff and two residents had tested positive for the coronavirus.
Ten days later, widely-performed testing showed that the number of residents and staff infected had grown much more than what was initially expected.
Fraser Health has assisted Tabor Village with an infection control outbreak plan that includes staff and resident movement restrictions and enhanced screening procedures, Levitt said.
“Additional resources have been made available including clinical nurse educators, infection control experts, and access to emergency supplies and additional staff if needed.”
