Employees at major grocery chains in Metro Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»are among the British Columbians who have recently tested positive for the coronavirus (COVID-19). Among the new cases are workers at Loblaw-owned stores located in Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»and Coquitlam.
Loblaw Companies Ltd, the parent company of retail chains Real Canadian Superstore and No Frills provided updates to its COVID-19 on Feb. 17, indicating the following affected stores:
- Alfie's No Frills, 1688 - West 4th Avenue, Vancouver: The last day the team member worked was on February 7.
- Real Canadian Superstore, 3000 Lougheed Hwy, Coquitlam: The last day the team member worked was on February 14.
- Real Canadian Superstore, 1301 Lougheed Hwy, Coquitlam: The last day the team member worked was on February 12.
Additionally, Loblaw-owned Asian grocery giant T & T Supermarket is reporting a new case - the first in a few weeks - at one of its Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»stores.
According to the , a part-time employee at the following store is newly-confirmed as having the virus:
- Marine Gateway Store, 458 SW Marine Dr, Vancouver: The last day the employee worked was on February 14.
None of the stores are considered public exposure locations by either Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»Coastal Health or Fraser Health.
Sobeys Inc, which operates stores in the region like Safeway and Thrifty Foods, updated its B.C. coronavirus employee case tracker on Feb. 16 to include a confirmed case at the Safeway in Dawson Creek, however, the company has not reported any cases for stores in the Lower Mainland since Feb. 9.
