A COVID-19 outbreak has been declared at a long-term care home in Richmond after two patients and two staff tested positive for the virus.
The outbreak is on the third floor of Richmond Lions Manor-Bridgeport, Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»Coastal Health said in a statement on Saturday afternoon.
The home – at 9020 Bridgeport Road near Great Canadian Way – is now closed to new admissions or transfers, and all group activities have been suspended, according to VCH.
Visits to the third floor of the home, where the outbreak was declared, have also been suspended until outbreak measures are lifted, with the exception of essential care or compassionate visits at the end of life.
The health authority said it has implemented infection prevention and control protocols to prevent further transmission of COVID-19, including monitoring patients, staff and physicians, cohorting of staff to infected areas and contact tracing.
An outbreak was at Richmond Lions Manor-Bridgeport in August 2020, affecting a single staff member.
Last week, VCH declared an outbreak at the 4 North Acute Care for the Elderly Unit at Richmond Hospital after seven patients tested positive, which is still ongoing.
