B.C. confirms 3,289 new cases of COVID-19, for total of 112,829

There are now 112,829 cases of the coronavirus (COVID-19) in B.C. after health officials announced 3,289 new cases Monday.

From Friday to Saturday there were 1,283 new cases detected, from Saturday to Sunday there were 1,036, and from Sunday to Monday, there were 970.

Provincial Health Officer Dr. Bonnie Henry reports that there have been 740 new cases of COVID-19 in the Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»­Coastal Health region, 1,957 in the Fraser Health region, 167 in the Island Health region, 299 in the Interior Health region, 125 in the Northern Health Region and no new cases from people who resides outside of Canada.

An update on variant numbers will be provided later.

There have been 18 new COVID-19 related deaths, for a total of 1,513 deaths in British Columbia.

Of the total COVID-19 cases, 368 individuals are hospitalized, 121 of whom are in intensive care. The remaining people with COVID-19 are recovering at home in self-isolation. 

“Over one million doses (1,112,101) of Pfizer-BioNTech, Moderna and AstraZeneca-SII COVID-19 vaccines have been administered in B.C., 87,744 of which are second doses," said Henry.
