B.C. confirms 199 new cases of COVID-19, for total of 144,866

There are now 144,866 cases of the coronavirus (COVID-19) in B.C. after health officials announced 199 new cases Thursday (June 3).

There are now 144,866 cases of the coronavirus (COVID-19) in B.C. after health officials announced 199 new cases Thursday (June 3).

Three of these new cases are epi-linked. 

Provincial Health Officer Dr. Bonnie Henry reported that there have been 68 new cases of COVID-19 in the Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»­Coastal Health region, 89  in the Fraser Health region, two in the Island Health region, 34 in the Interior Health region, six in the Northern Health Region and no new cases in people who reside outside of Canada.

There is no update on the variants of concern in the province. 

There have been two new COVID-19 related deaths, for a total of 1,709 deaths from the virus. 

There are 2,563 active cases of COVID-19 in the province. 

Of the active cases, 224 individuals are currently hospitalized with COVID-19,  62 of whom are in intensive care.

3,104,143 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in B.C.; 229,585 of these are second doses. 68.9 per cent of eligible British Columbians over 12 years old have received one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine in B.C.
