• I can鈥檛 believe I missed this during the game against the Penguins, but Alex Burrows totally tried to pull a Bulis, ie. jumped on a player鈥檚 back to get a piggyback ride in the middle of a game. Don鈥檛 remember when Jan Bulis pulled this trick? Let me remind you:

• Brendan Gaunce and Alex Biega have been sent back down to the AHL. Joining them is Jacob Markstrom for a conditioning stint as he continues to recover from his preseason injury. []

• Alex Burrows played his 700th career game on November 2nd, but he鈥檚 somehow still massively underrated. This season, despite not playing with the Sedins, Burrows is tied for second on the Canucks in scoring. Has anyone noticed? I mean, other than smart and attractive bloggers? []

• I love this quote from Brock Boeser鈥檚 coach at North Dakota: 鈥淲hen he shoots the puck he isn鈥檛 just trying to get it on the net, he is trying to put it through the back of the net.鈥� Jim Benning and Willie Desjardins probably like this quote more: 鈥淚 think a lot of it has to do with his solid two-way game. He isn鈥檛 just a goal scorer. His play away from the puck is tenacious. When he doesn鈥檛 have the puck he wants to get it back. He gives up his body to block shots and that is something special for players of that quality.鈥� []

• "Willie Desjardins high on Canucks' young players" says this headline, which worries me: how full of drugs are the Canucks' young players if Desjardins is getting contact highs off of them? []

• Dimitri Filipovic brings the goaltending fancy stats to Canucks.com, illustrating just how good Ryan Miller has been early in the season for the Canucks and also how much they鈥檝e needed him to be that good. []
