The Canucks pre-season is only one game in, but it didn't go well.
One game isn't enough to predict how an entire season will go, and a pre-season game is an even worse indicator, but it does seem to align with how fans expect Vancouver's NHL team's 2023-24 campaign to go.
While the top pick is that the team will make the playoffs (37 per cent), the majority of voters don't expect a playoff team out of this group of Canucks players and coaches.
A third of the voters don't think there will be any sort of Stanley Cup run, while more than a fifth of voters figure the Canucks will be good ol' fashioned "bad" this year. More than 55 per cent don't think they'll make the playoffs at all.
It seems those from outside of Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»have slightly higher hopes for the team compared to locals, but only by a couple of percentage points.
And there are very few people who think they'll do well, with between seven and eight per cent of voters expecting a high finish for the group. Oddly, a few more people think they have a shot at the Presidents' Trophy than think they'll just win their division.
