With his oustanding statistics as a backup for the Sabres last season, the Canucks signing Anders Nilsson this off-season made a lot of sense. Apparently, it also made .
The Canucks new goaltender has a son, Mio, who just turned two earlier this month. Apparently Mio is a big fan of Spider-Man, which is understandable: Spider-Man is awesome.
To add just the right touch to Mio’s birthday, Nilsson decided that Spider-Man himself needed to show up. And, since Peter Parker is notoriously poor and would have a hard time affording the flight to Sweden, Nilsson took it upon himself to don the duds and do some wall-crawling. Or, in this case, roof-crawling.

That’s amazing, spectacular, and sensational, not to mention friendly and neighbourhood. We’ll even overlook the fact that he totally dropped his present for Mio off the top of the roof, mainly because he didn’t seem too worried about it. Besides, things normally go a lot worse than that when .
Nilsson’s Spider-Man act was a hit with both the kids and the family dog. He’s clearly not just a great goaltender, but a super-dad as well.
While it must be tough to be on the road and away from home so much as a hockey player, Nilsson takes his son with him wherever he goes thanks to a tattoo on his left arm. The clock shows the exact time Mio was born. Nilsson has a similar clock on his right arm with his own time of birth.

Nilsson has also featured in both Edmonton and Buffalo, so it’s fair to expect Mio to show up on his mask in Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»as well.
Here’s hoping Nilsson shows off his spider-like reflexes in the Canucks’ net this coming season.
