A leading player in the golf technology industry has opened its first Canadian store in Richmond.
Boasting more than 60,000 head and shaft combinations in Canada, U.S.-based custom golf club fitter Club Champion opened a fitting studio last week at 5660 Cedarbridge Way, just west of Lansdowne Road and Minoru Boulevard.
The studio marks the first fully Club Champion-branded store in Canada after their acquisition of Tour Experience Golf (TXG) in 2022.
Club Champion fits, sells, and builds custom golf clubs using brands like Callaway, TaylorMade, PING, Titleist, Cobra, Fujikura and Golf Pride.
The new studio features two indoor hitting bays with Foresight launch monitors for analyzing performance, a Quintic Ball Roll system for putting and a build shop for repairing and assembling golf clubs by hand.
The space also includes a demo matrix to display the head and shaft options that make up their 60,000 hittable combinations.
“We’re thrilled to be able to expand within Canada and keep bringing this level of fitting to golfers,” said Nick Sherburne, founder of Club Champion.
“Working with Ian (Fraser) and his team has been great, and we’re excited to offer custom club fitting to a new market.”
Club Champion has been ranked by Golf Digest as one of the 100 Best Club Fitters since the inception of the list.
“We’ve seen so many players who think they aren’t skilled enough for a fitting, and that’s just not the case,” said Ian Fraser, GM of Club Champion Canada.
“There’s no minimum skill required; in fact, higher handicappers stand to gain the most from a custom fitting. It’s not uncommon to see double-digit gains throughout the bag and a healthy drop in handicap after a fitting done right.”
