In the hustle and bustle of city life we often feel disconnected from a meaningful form of bond between ourselves and the often-overlooked artifacts we regularly encounter. Small instances like trees that line our daily route, chairs we sit upon, forks we eat from and sweaters we wear can be completely forgotten - or, we did not pause to consider them in the first place. Perception of time affects the way we appreciate our environment. Life can be a blur, or we can choose to live reversely, crystal clear. The pop up event at the Chinatown Experiment asks that we consider pace of life so that we enjoy life’s precious details.

Nicola Fuller and Katherine Pihl (pictured above) co-founded the project in response to their grand realization that time was in control of their lives. They found that society is dominated by the desire for speed in all areas of life; food, fashion, travel, exercise, and so much more are all being experienced far too quickly. They began envisioning a world where the rhythms of life are slow, harmonious and provided better opportunities for happiness.

The intention of the project is to introduce people in the community to a slow lifestyle philosophy while asking them to question their own personal relationship with time. To mark ’s one year anniversary an experientially slow pop up event is being held titled: “Dear Wanderer, slow down to see the beautyâ€
