Hudson's Bay department stores will begin reopening on Tuesday, May 19, in Western Canada and Nova Scotia.
Hudson's Bay has 18 department stores in B.C., 10 of which are in the Lower Mainland-Fraser Valley.
The company will begin a phased reopening Tuesday, with its stores opening in B.C., as well as some stores in Alberta, Saskatchewan and Nova Scotia. Hudson's Bay stores in Manitoba are already open.
The stores in B.C. will reopen Tuesday with a number of notable restrictions in place and reduced stores hours. They will have enhanced cleaning protocols and directional signage on floors floors to manage in store traffic.
They will operate on reduced hours, from 12 noon to 5 p.m. daily, except Tuesdays, when they will open one hour earlier, at 11 a.m., for seniors, people with disabilities and frontline workers only. Only those customers will be allowed in to shop on Tuesdays from a.m. to noon, before the stores open to the general public.
For customers who are still reluctant to risk in-store shopping can use a curbside pickup service being offered for purchases made online.
