Remember back in August when I brought you quick recap of the Grow Conference in which CEO, Ryan Holmes (pictured below being interviewed for ) presented? I didn't share his subject with you then but what Ryan delivered on stage was what he called the "Decentralization of San Francisco [Silicon Valley]" and the idea that you can do a startup from anywhere. He shared a bunch of slides about the greatest things about Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»and why he's chosen to keep Hootsuite, the social media dashboard (which we use every day here at V.I.A.), based out of Vancouver. At the end he announced they had plans to grow from 25 to 50 employees in 2011.
Well it's 2012, only 6 months later, and their team is now almost 120 deep! This is such an incredible local success story and it gives me great pleasure to let you know that Hootsuite is now looking to DOUBLE that number of employees by the end of this year. I'm not great at math but I've calculated that with Ryan's previous announcement of 50 employees by the end of 2011 this actually means they'll have a team of 7,000 by the end of this year.
And what does all of this mean for you? The talented and adventurous go-getter? It could mean a job. They're looking for Sales, Developers, and Support folks, and they're hosting a Recruiting Open House this coming Monday, February 27th to bring together the world’s top talent.
Learn more , and if you end up getting hired please put a bug in Ryan's ear and tell him I'd like to feature him in my series!
It looks like a screencap from ' video but I assure you I poached this photo with my own camera
