Canada's largest Asian grocery store is setting its sights on Coquitlam.

The new Asian grocery store will be opening up in a large former home housewares store, Home Outfitters, that has been vacant for more than two years.
Close to IKEA, and what will eventually be the , T&T has its sights set on meeting the needs of the area that has up until now been served by a large Real Canadian Superstore at 1301 Lougheed Hwy.
Its closest competition might be HMart, a Korean grocery store at 329 North Rd.
The announcement means residents in growing neighbourhoods of southwest Coquitlam and Burquitlam now have a new place to shop for Asian products including meats, dairy, produce, daily baked breads and ready-to-eat meals.
The new store is expected to open in late 2022 and will be the second location serving Coquitlam, after a long-standing store at Coquitlam Centre.
The new store, along with a new store in Calgary, will bring T&T Supermarkets' store count to 33 locations across Canada.
"The opening of four new T&T locations over the next year is a testament to T&T's thriving business, as Canadians embrace new flavours and trends, while also seeking the traditional foods and comforts of home," stated Robert Sawyer, chief operating officer for Loblaw Companies Limited, in a press release.
"We're proud of the T&T Supermarkets team for what they've been able to accomplish and look forward to supporting the business' growth in the future."
T&T Supermarkets is the largest Asian supermarket chain in Canada with stores in British Columbia, Alberta, and Ontario.
