I recently read a that going for 50 coffees with people you've never met is the entrepreneurs equivalent to the that doing anything for 10,000 hours will make you an expert on it. While I get the idea, 50 coffees is far easier than practicing something for ten years, and while I'm far from lazy I've decided to set out on a fairly simple mission: over the next 50 weeks I'm going to invite 50 interesting Vancouverites, most of whom I have never met before, to go for coffee. I'm going to use this as an exercise in networking for myself and for V.I.A. while also using it as a platform to introduce you to some people who are doing really cool stuff in the city you live in. |
Meet Kyprios. North Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»born-and-raised MC, poet, of last year's Peak Performance Project and... a father-to-be! You heard it here first, Kyprios is gonna be a dad!!! He and his lady, Ingrid, are expecting in a few months and I'm thrilled to be the one to bring you the news.
We met not long ago at Hogan's Alley on Union Street and before he dropped the news of the pregnancy we chatted about his Peak Performance Project win, the time he spent living in New York, a musical he co-wrote as well as the future he's looking forward to in this city. I'll keep this one short and sweet and say that I'm so glad to have connected with this dude and I hope to enjoy many more coffees with him in the years to come. You can read more about him in Joel's recent , then and .
