SQUAMISH, B.C. — RCMP in Squamish, B.C., are investigating the death of a toddler who was hit by a vehicle in a grocery store parking lot Friday evening.
Police say the two-year-old was walking with a female when they were both struck around 6 p.m.
Investigators say they had just left the store on Garibaldi Way and were crossing the lot on foot when it happened.
They were rushed to hospital but police say the child died soon after.
There was no immediate word on the condition of the female, or her relationship to the toddler.
Police say the driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and is co-operating with investigators. They're also asking anyone who witnessed the incident to contact them.
