Travellers looking to get onto the 7:00 a.m. ferry from Swartz Bay to Tsawwassen by way of Salt Spring Island were mostly unable to get through this morning.
BC Ferries sent out a notice at 6:56 a.m. letting customers know that they "are aware of the protest happening outside of our Swartz Bay terminal, and crew are working on a contingency plan for moving traffic through for processing."
They encouraged people to keep updated on their .
The protest is with the hereditary chiefs of the Wet’suwet’en Nation, who are opposed to an LNG pipeline in their territory (more on that HERE).
