Man arrested twice during Campbell River drug investigation

Officers allege the man continued to sell drugs in the city after his first arrest.

Campbell River RCMP arrested a 27-year-old man from Richmond on drug-trafficking charges — twice.

Mounties first arrested the man on Oct. 18, seizing 10 grams of fentanyl, 64 dilaudid pills, five grams of crack cocaine, two grams of cocaine and nearly two grams of methamphetamine, along with $845, Campbell River RCMP said in a news release.

The man’s car was also seized as property related to a criminal offence and he was released with a future court date, police said.

Officers determined the man continued to sell drugs in the city after his first arrest and executed a search warrant on a hotel room being used by him. There, they found 19 grams of fentanyl, 693 dilaudid pills, 34 grams of crack cocaine, nearly eight grams of cocaine, seven grams of methamphetamine and $8,400.

The man was released on the condition that he stay away from Campbell River.

Police are recommending numerous related to trafficking.
