A “significant amount” of illicit drugs and cash were seized during a search of a Port Hardy home, RCMP say.
The case began June 20 when Port Hardy RCMP officers started a drug-trafficking probe and arrested two people in a vehicle near Granville Street and Highway 19.
Evidence from the vehicle led to the search the same day at a location in the 4000-block of Byng Road, where about 1.3 kilograms of drugs and more than $20,000 in cash was seized.
The investigation is ongoing, and no charges have been laid, police said.
“The Port Hardy RCMP detachment remains focused on targeting and disrupting illicit drug-trafficking in our community,” said Detachment Cmdr. Sgt. Trevor Busch.
