A dog attack has resulted in the death of one person at a Kamloops residence, according to the RCMP.
At 11:45 a.m. Monday morning reports came in of a dog attacking a person at a home in the 900-block of Singh Street.
A man who was visiting the residence was attacked by a pit bull owned by a resident of the house. The visiting man died of his injuries.
The dog was subsequently secured on the deck of the house. Conservation officers at the scene were expected to sedate and then euthanize the dog.
The man's name will not be released, according to a press release from the Kamloops RCMP.
The B.C. Coroners will investigate the incident.
