Health Canada warns that a popular brand of glue may pose a serious health risk due to improper labelling.
A consumer product notification posted on Wednesday, June 28, states that the Elmer’s® Spray Adhesive & Elmer’s Craftbond Multi-Purpose Spray Adhesive has been recalled from the marketplace.
Since the products don't meet the federal labelling requirements, using them may result in "unintentional exposure to the product and lead to serious illness, injury or death," according to Health Canada.
As of June 23, no injuries or incidents associated with the use of the product were reported in Canada.
There are two products involved in the glue recall: Elmer’s Spray Adhesive (397 g / 14 oz) and Elmer’s Craftbond Multi-Purpose Spray Adhesive (311g / 11 oz). The recalled products can be identified by the product number and UPC located on the back of the product label.
Elmer's sold 232,344 units of its Elmer’s Spray Adhesive and 55,813 units of its Elmer’s Craftbond Multi-Purpose Spray Adhesive in Canada between January 2019 to June 2023.
