People have lots of stories about when, where and how they purchased winning lottery tickets.
For one Burnaby man, it was sudden decision during his daily commute.
Ahmet Aktas’s decision to make a pit stop to play Keno on Oct. 3 turned out to be one worth $50,018.
While driving for work, Aktas pulled over to check where his next destination was, and decided to check his ticket while stopped.
“I saw all but one of my numbers come up, and I was really excited to know that I had won $50,018,” says Aktas, who bought the winning ticket at the Semiahmoo Town Pantry in Surrey.
Aktas says he hasn’t decided what to do with the winnings, but says for now he’ll put them into savings.
