B.C. man charged with murder, accused of killing his mother

A Kamloops man charged with second-degree murder in the death of his mother is now behind bars, according to police.

Mounties said Brandon Donovan, 35, was arrested on Friday morning, not long after he was charged with second-degree murder in the March 13, 2023, death of his mother, Jo-Anne Donovan.

A date for Donovan’s first court appearance has not yet been set.

A Kamloops man has been charged with second-degree murder in the death of his mother, whose body was found last year near her home in Westmount.

Jo-Anne Donovan, 57,  according to police.

She was  near her home at the Warren’s Mobile Home Park.

An autopsy later confirmed .

Her son, Brandon Donovan, 35, was charged with second-degree murder on Friday.

Few details known

Police have revealed little information throughout their investigation.

When she was reported missing, police said Donovan’s vehicle was located in the driveway of the home she shared with Brandon.

Mounties conducted  in the weeks that followed Donovan’s disappearance. Court documents allege she was slain on March 13, 2023, the day of her reported disappearance.

Speaking to Castanet in March, on the one-year anniversary of his mother’s disappearance, Brandon Donovan  in an effort to find out what happened. He was still living in the trailer he previously shared with his mom.

A date for Donovan's first court appearance has not yet been set.
