CLEVELAND (AP) — Evan Mobley scored 25 points, Donovan Mitchell added 24 and the Cleveland Cavaliers improved to 5-0 with a 134-110 win over the Los Angeles Lakers on Wednesday night in a game that included a special homecoming for LeBron James and his son, Bronny.
The win marks the first time the Cavs have started 5-0 since the 2016-17 season, led by LeBron, and the third time in franchise history.
In the final minutes, Bronny played for the second time as a pro and was inserted with 5:16 left. The younger James, who grew up in the arena, made a 14-foot jumper with 2:03 to play for his first NBA points.
Jarrett Allen added 20 points and 17 rebounds for Cleveland.
LeBron scored 26 and Anthony Davis had 22 and 13 rebounds for the Lakers, who were unable to cut into Cleveland’s lead after falling behind by 23 in the first half.
HORNETS 138, RAPTORS 133
CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) — Tre Mann scored 27 points off the bench, Nick Richards had 24 points and 14 rebounds and Charlotte defeated Toronto for their first home win of the season.
Cody Martin had a career-high 25 points, and LaMelo Ball scored 19 for Charlotte, which allowed a 23-point first half lead to evaporate before recapturing it with a 12-0 run to end the third quarter.
RJ Barrett had 31 points, Gradey Dick had a career-high 30 and Jakob Poeltl had 20 points and 16 rebounds to lead the Raptors, playing without Scottie Barnes.
The Hornets got 72 points from their bench, 69 from Mann, Martin and Grant Williams, who had 17.
PISTONS 105, 76ERS 95
PHILADELPHIA (AP) — Tobias Harris had 18 points and 14 rebounds in his Philadelphia return and Detroit won for the first time in five games this season.
Harris joined Detroit — 14-68 last season — in the offseason as a free agent after six seasons with the 76ers. Jaden Ivey scored 23 points for the Pistons, Cade Cunningham added 22 and Tim Hardaway Jr. had 16.
Philadelphia (1-3) trailed by 21 in the second half in its fourth game without All-Star Joel Embiid (left knee injury maintenance) and Paul George (left knee bone bruise).
Tyrese Maxey led the 76ers with 32 points on 12-of-25 shooting. Kelly Oubre Jr. had 13 points, and Jared McCain added 12.
WIZARDS 133, HAWKS 120
WASHINGTON (AP) — Bilal Coulibaly scored a career-high 27 points, and Washington beat Atlanta for the second win over the Hawks in three days.
The Wizards swept the home-and-home series with the Hawks after over Atlanta on Monday. Trae Young had 35 points and 15 assists for Atlanta, but Washington took control with a 16-4 run at the start of the fourth quarter.
Atlanta was missing two starters in Dyson Daniels (right hip) and De’Andre Hunter (right knee), plus Bogdan Bogdanovic (right hamstring). Washington was without starting forward Kyle Kuzma (right groin).
KNICKS 116, HEAT 107
MIAMI (AP) — Karl-Anthony Towns had 44 points and 13 rebounds, Jalen Brunson scored 18 of his 22 points in the second half and New York rallied to beat Miami.
Towns had the fourth-most points for the Knicks against the Heat. Jamal Crawford scored 52 in 2007, Carmelo Anthony had 50 at Miami in 2013 and RJ Barrett 46 in 2022.
Mikal Bridges added 17 points for New York, which trailed by 13 in the third quarter before flipping the game. OG Anunoby had 11 points and Josh Hart finished with 10 points, 14 rebounds and six assists.
Tyler Herro had 34 points for Miami, hitting eight 3-pointers. Terry Rozier scored 16 points, Jimmy Butler had 15, Bam Adebayo 11 and Nikola Jovic 10.
Miami was again without Kevin Love. He has missed all four games this season for personal reasons.
PACERS 135, CELTICS 132, OT
INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — Pascal Siakam scored the last of his 29 points on to give Indiana a victory over previously unbeaten Boston.
Siakam tied his single-game career high with six 3s and grabbed 11 rebounds. in the second half, and Tyrese Haliburton had 17 points and 12 assists.
The victory ended Indiana’s three-game losing streak.
Boston charged back from a 19-point fourth-quarter deficit to force overtime and led 132-130 after Derrick White’s layup with 39.7 seconds to go. But Indiana scored the final five points to win.
. Jaylen Brown added 25 points and had a chance to tie the score but his 3 in the waning seconds was off the mark. White finished with 23 points in the first matchup between these teams since Boston swept Indiana in last season’s Eastern Conference finals.
BULLS 102, MAGIC 99
CHICAGO (AP) — Coby White scored 21 points, Josh Giddey added 20 and Chicago beat Orlando.
Nikola Vucevic added 18 points and 14 rebounds in Chicago’s second-straight win.
Paolo Banchero scored 31 points for Orlando two days after scoring 50 against the Pacers, but it wasn’t enough. Jalen Suggs, who missed a fading jump shot in the final seconds, had 17.
The Bulls shot 3 for 15 in the fourth quarter but held on after Orlando shot 4 for 22 in the final quarter. Both teams combined for 28 points in the fourth.
The Magic led by as many as 20 points in the first half, but Chicago came back with a 12-3 run late in the second quarter. Banchero had 20 in the first half to help the Magic take a 62-52 lead to intermission.
NETS 119, GRIZZLIES 106
MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) — Dennis Schroder had 33 points and eight assists, Cam Thomas added 19 points and Brooklyn beat Memphis.
Ziaire Williams, who started his NBA career with Memphis before an offseason trade, had 17 points.
Jaren Jackson Jr. led Memphis with 30 points, connecting on 10 of 12 shots, including all three of his 3-pointers. Ja Morant had 14 points, 11 assists and eight rebounds, but was 5 of 16 from the field and made only one of his six shots from outside the arc.
Rookie Zach Edey and Brandon Clarke each finished with 13 points, Clarke making all five of his shots. The Grizzlies had 22 turnovers.
THUNDER 105, SPURS 93
OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) — Lu Dort scored 20 points, Chet Holmgren added 19 and Oklahoma City defeated San Antonio to remain the only unbeaten team in the Western Conference.
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander scored 18 points, and Jalen Williams had 12 points, eight assists and seven rebounds for the Thunder. Oklahoma City has won all four of its games by at least 12 points.
Harrison Barnes scored 18 points, Jeremy Sochan had 17 points and nine rebounds, and Chris Paul added 14 points and nine assists for the Spurs.
San Antonio’s Victor Wembanyama was held to six points on 1-for-5 shooting in his matchup with Holmgren, a fellow second-year big man. Wembanyama also had eight rebounds and three blocks.

SAN FRANCISCO (AP) — Buddy Hield scored 21 points, Trayce Jackson-Davis had 15 points and nine rebounds, and Golden State beat New Orleans for the second straight night.
Golden State, committed to a 12-man rotation, again received contributions from throughout its deep roster as Stephen Curry missed his second straight game with a left ankle injury. He is scheduled to be re-evaluated Friday. Andrew Wiggins also sat out consecutive nights because of low back tightness.
Draymond Green had 14 points and six assists. Jackson-Davis is shooting 22 for 27 (77.7%) over the first five games.
Jordan Hawkins had 23 points for the short-handed Pelicans, who were without guards CJ McCollum and Herb Jones. McCollum will have imaging done on his sore right adductor muscle and Jones also underwent imaging tests before being re-evaluated back home in New Orleans.
A day after jumping to a 20-point lead early, New Orleans fell behind in a hurry, going 3 for 11 to begin the game.
TRAIL BLAZERS 106, CLIPPERS 105
LOS ANGELES (AP) — Anfernee Simons scored 25 points, Deandre Ayton had 15 points and 12 rebounds and Portland rallied to beat Los Angeles.
Deni Avdija had 13 points and 10 rebounds and made a game-saving block when he stuffed Norman Powell on a fast break with 29 seconds remaining to preserve a one-point lead.
Scoot Henderson added 14 points and Toumani Camara had 12 points for Portland, which trailed the entire fourth quarter until Simons made a go-ahead layup with 2:44 remaining.
Powell had 30 points and James Harden had 19 points and 10 assists for the Clippers. Los Angeles made only one field goal and scored just three points and in the final 3:30 of the game.
