RCMP say Sunday evening vehicle collision in Nova Scotia leaves one woman dead

MEAGHERS HILL, NOVA SCOTIA — Police in Nova Scotia say they are investigating a vehicle collision that left one person dead.

Guysborough County District RCMP say officers responded to a report of a motor vehicle collision on Highway 16 in Meaghers Hill on Sunday evening.

They say investigation shows a pickup truck travelling north toward Antigonish and a car travelling south toward Guysborough ran into each other at a slight curve on Highway 16 between Old Monastery Road and Reddys Hill Road.

Police say a 74-year-old woman who was the driver and only occupant of the car was pronounced dead at the scene.

They say the 50-year-old driver of the truck had minor injuries.

The Mounties say there is no indication of drugs or alcohol being a factor in the collision.
