FREDERICTON — The RCMP in New Brunswick say they are investigating after an NB Power truck was filmed driving slowly into a striking federal worker to move him off the road.
RCMP spokesman Cpl. Hans Ouellette says officers were on the scene in Oromocto, N.B., this morning when the driver used the truck to get the striking member of the Public Service Alliance of Canada out of the way.Â
He says the driver was pulled over by police and identified, and the investigation is ongoing.
A video posted to social media shows a white NB Power truck with 'training crew' written on the side honking and grazing one person as it rolls down a street where picketing federal employees are crossing.
The heavy truck then approaches another protester stopped in the street, and it moves forward, nudging the protester down the street before he jumps out of the truck's path.
NB Power said on Twitter the driver was not an employee but a driving trainer under contract, and it promised the matter would be "dealt with swiftly."
