Whale! There’s A Whale in the Creek!

"Apparently there is a whale in false creek..." nothing will get me to run faster. Nothing. I've been living in Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»for almost exactly 2 years now, and it's been a personal goal to see one that is not in a tub of water at a zoo.

"Apparently there is a whale in false creek..." nothing will get me to run faster. Nothing.

I've been living in Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»for almost exactly 2 years now, and it's been a personal goal to see one that is not in a tub of water at a zoo. Dream fulfilled today.

I threw on pants, shoes, my camera and ran down the Granville Bridge... and with perfect timing, I saw it...here's my "photo essay", haha:

The coast guard and police boats were hanging around Bridges so I assumed it was over that way....until i saw this:

White Ghost? Loch Ness Monster? Nope...Gray Whale!:

I ran across the 8 lanes of the Granville Bridge, and by that time, it had made its way towards Stamps Landing, and then Science World (where Bob saw it)...then I got a text that it was heading back, so I braved the wind and watched as the entourage of boats made its way back:

But again, it clearly liked me more and surfaced close to the bridge:

Then the ghost swam back under the bridge and came up again right by the aquabus dock, but I was dodging traffic at the time. Here is the shot of the TON of people at Grandville Island/Bridges waiting to see it:

But it went straight for the Burrard Bridge and back to the ocean:

Vancouver, you are awesome.

Whale, you made my day.
