Those heading from the West Shore into Victoria on the Trans-Canada Highway on Saturday afternoon may have experienced a traffic delay caused by a goose and six goslings.
The geese family received a police escort as they waddled alongside the highway shoulder. One lane was briefly closed to motorists to ensure the safety of the waterfowl.
In a statement on social media, West Shore RCMP thanked travellers for their patience while one of its officers, along with Capital Regional District animal control officers, assisted the family of geese to their destination safely.
